well this is for my brother but he just bought a car with a b16 tranny with a lock differential. Would it be possible to "unlock" the differential or add on a limited slip onto the tranny..any help would be appreciated..

if it's a homemade "Posi" then you won't be able to "unlock"...being homemade would mean that the gears inside the open diff were welded, which would mean that both wheels are constantly giving power to the road, u could just buy a limited slip from a company such as skunk 2 or i am almost positive that a Gsr has a limited slip, but not sure if the b16 tranny cwould be compatible. what you have now would be considered a "No-slip" differential, great for straight line accel but horrible for corners..

I don't beleive skunk 2 makes an LSD. GSR's never had LSDs except for some japanese versions. The Type R was the only US integra with an LSD.
If you want to go aftermarket you can always look at companys like KAAZ, QUAIFE (sp?), etc. If your on a budget you can look at the OBX lsd, which has held up very well in most cases.
