as i was driving home from my girlfriends house, i see in my rearveiw mirror 2 very bright headlamps flashing and closing in quick. 2 dudes in a shiny yellow c6 pass me and slow to get next to me. theyre both looking over giving me the "lets run it" nod. i figure, shit, i havent run the sube against anyone, so why not pop its cherry with a yellow c6 vette.

i nod my head, and shift down to 3rd i was at about 50mph. keeping the clutch in, i rev to 6 grand and the vette takes off. i pop the clutch and immediately get next to the vette. i hear him over rev a bit and shift up. i stay in 3rd until 7000 and power shift to 4th, giving me a bumpers lead on the yellow monster next to me. as he starts getting to the top of 4th, the c6 starts to edge up even to the STi, and starts to slooooowly pull away. as his rear bumper passes my door, i realize im not gonna catch up, so i ride out the rest of 4th and let off. by the time 4th ends for me, im starting to see the monsters huge, yet sexy ass end and tail lights.

the dude slows down and gets next to me and both the pilot and co-pilot of that land missle give a thumbs up and are grinning from ear to ear. I throw a quick grin and a peace sign back at them, and they turn down into an intersection.

while i know the subie is very quick, i never thought that i would be able to hang with a c6 for as long as i did.

well, the car is stock, so it can take the abuse.

the sti tranny is stronger than the standard wrx, im not too worried about it.

I work on alot of WRX's, im not exactly sure where you heard that because the Sti tranny's are actually not as strong as you might think, It WILL break if you keep beating on it like that, i don't know how long you had that Sti or have been researching parts for it and stuff, but alot of Sti owner's throw the 6spd away and install the 5spd from the 2.5Rs, for some reason it is a bit stronger and the gear ratios are better suited for spooling.....Summary, that tranny is not strong, and you will break it, 2.5Rs tranny stronger, and makes car quicker
