i currently have 2 kicker comp vr 12's with a 900rms kenwood mono block amp. i was thinking i need some more trunk space but don't really want to sacrafice sound is there one speaker that will make up for two without paying an arm and a nut?

one jbl gti will hit just as hard i promise we put 2 15"s in an older altima and broke his trunk hinge there off the chain

lol i dont remember the price but there worth it the sick man just my sugestion or you can go with a solo x and lose all your trunk space

what are the pros/cons with ported and sealed?

Sealed Pros:
higher mechanical power handling across a larger bandwith
increase woofer Q across a larger bandwith
easy to build

Cons:
horribly inefficient
more power is needed

Ported Pros:
MUCH higher mechanical power handlinge near tuning
MUCH more efficient
Less power needed.

Ported cons:
Slightly smaller bandwith (not really applicable since you shouldnt have your subs palying any higher than 80hz anyhow)
Can destroy a sub if you play a note belown the ported box's tuning too loudly for too long. (oh believe me even a newb can tell when you do this)



From all aspects ported is superior to sealed as long as you know what you are doing, main reason being efficiency. I can make a ported box sound BETTER than ANY prefab sealed you can buy. (Or ported and most especially bandpass.) And ALL ported boxes WILL be louder than their sealed counterparts.

i've been under a rock somewhere. i never knew this info. someone is selling a solo baric 15 in f/s would that work out in a ported box and sound decent?

a single ported L7 12 would work perfectly....

im not a fan of the L7's.....they are square so they will hit nice and hard but the quality isnt the best.

if i was putting a system in id go with 2 10" jl w6 v2's...good sounding subs (plus my buddy has 2 laying around lmao

eeeh ive been less than impressed with w6s honestly....now w7s i was VERY impressed with...

besides the box dictates how close you will come to a subs potential more than anything. And L7s have won major events in the sq lanes. All in the install. ;)

Depends on what you want...;) For a good ported box you are looking at 90+ shipping. Of course carpeted with terminal cups. Have tons of pics, refrences and experience. ;)

IMO - SoundAbuse bites!! Crappy customer service is my main complaint...their deck installs leave something to be desired however. (they use butt connectors....BIG no no)
