yeah because to do the swap, you have to remove the immobilizer. and the easiest trouble free way to address that is to go with hondata.

How is it not fast, those cars come with what 140 to the wheels and now he gained 65hp, thats a lot of power I care who says otherwise.. When you talk big power, are you comparing it to your 46~hp..? Just because people dont post what they make on the internet for e-net proof, doesnt mean there arent some people making some serious power.. I'm sure you know of the white maxima that was out at the meet when you all were out there.. IM sure can give plenty of people a run for their money, even though he doesnt seem to have a lot of power. Its not how much power you make its if you know how to work that power, im sure youve experienced that phrase on your numerous occassions to the track.

It feasibly possible to get serious power out of that VQ35, if you havent seen the video of the fully built motor pushing 1600hp and running a 6 sec ET. Yea, it takes a lot of money, as does most cars that arent built for this type of application or even cars that are (yours) but people are trying it and the more the merrier.

markham meet a rsx with i/h/e/hondata raced a 1995 automatic maxima with a sliping tranny and all he had was the vq35 swap and not mods. stock everything and raped the rsx by 7 cars. numerous people on the site saw this race.

This is just the swap, custom y-pipe, greddy evo II exhaust, and custom intake. No headers or nitrous. Travis is dropping tire pressure to try and bring those times down a bit and hopefully hit 12's.

I am totally floored by what this car did tonight...

On a tiny 22x8 ET street tire... the car belted out consistent low 13 second passes.. and busted on a 12.9 @ 105 for the final pass. Now, this was on a 22" tire! I was well into 5th gear by the end of the track! If I had some 24.5" tall tires... it would have picked up some MPH and probably a tenth or 2 extra. The best 60ft I achieved, was a 1.905, and that was launching the car at 6K. I wowed a lot of people with this simple little car tonight. I can't want to get some of these swap kits out to you guys! This car is a friggen go-kart with a VQ in it..

The motor can be had for about 1500, since it is still being used on 2006 cars, so I would assume the other $3000 was for the install and custom fabbing of motor mounts and stuff like that.

Are we in the states or not? As far as Honda of American is concerned they came with 106hp or less, and you added an extra 40+ hp with a motor swap as did this sentra person. How is that hard to understand?

ok i get the part about the horsepower added but saying that dropping a V6 into a sentra that already had a 2.4 liter in it to begin with is the same as going from a 4 cylinder 1.5 to a 4 cylinder 1.8. aka .3 of a liter. not 1.1 liter.

Anyway you look at it.... the swap was well worth the money. Drop some cams and headers and get deep into the 12s on a full body interior 25oo+ lbs. Sentra.

This is for Yani....

After further research....
QR25DE -- 267 lbs
SR20DE -- 306 lbs
SR20DET -- 328 lbs

VQ only weighs 45lbs more than a QR...therefore, the VQ is only 18lbs. LIGHTER than the DET. Why? Open-deck motor = less metal.

Upon further study, VQ can safely handle 400 hp. Given that the VQ swapped B15 ran 12.9 with a fairly stock motor. Imagine what 400 hp will net on that Sentra. Deep 11s? High 10s?

Although the VQ35 is a larger displacement, I would have preferred to see a VQ30 motor put into this sentra because of how well built it is over the 35.

This thread is hillarious. You guys are so gosh darn cool.

I just find it funny how people are busting on a Sentra with a Stock motor swap (considering short ram intake adds no hp and the exhaust on the car is just as restrictive as a G35 4door) that ran a 12.9 @ 105? Thats the funniest thing I have ever heard of! Obviously it's not performing too badly considering at this point it's the second fastest Sentra on record.

Ok so it's not turbo K20 hatch or a stage 3 SRT4. Who cares? The car will end up hitting 10's before the end of next year and still be daily driven. I can easily hit 450whp on the stock block. I then have the option of building the block and making over twice that. Bad swap? If you say so. I paid less for this than I would have a turbo and I now have more options to get better aftermarket parts for this motor and it's the ultimate sleeper.

May not be your cup of tea but for me I'm very excited and very happy with the results. I was never out to be the fastest and neither was Travis. If you don't like it that is fine but why sit there and act like a bunch of kids?

Oh and for the record... You guys really need to get the facts straight on this. I'm sitting here laughing my ass off because you guys have no clue.
