:ohnoes::ohnoes::ohnoes::ohnoes::ohnoes::run::run: :run::run::run::run:
So i been thinking for a long while.
I want a fast car. But i dont want any fast car.
I want my car.
I want something that will look stock but surprise when needed.
So im starting to definite plans for installing a chevy v8 (still deciding between carb or injection, but prices are wildly different)
A rebuilt transmission with some reinforcements to make it an efficient daily driver and weekend racer ( a beautiful balance of brains and brawn)
And a Ford 8" rear to handle the stress.
However, i've ditched the plans of a DIY project (seeing as to how long, how difficult and what a problem it could be)
And i need suggestions on shops that can install this items in my truck.
Suiggest ahead/

Throw a LS1 where? in the bed? because that's the only way you can "throw" anything in my truck

My truck is A+ as far as body goes, and the electrical is tip top. I actually have a lot of links im gonna give you so you can start researching it, and i've seen a lot of money go into useless projects such as 305 v8's, the 4.3's, among others. There is a bit more aftermarket on the project than i would have expected, thats why i would like to go thru with it without having to destroy the truck "customizing" it to make things fit. I also have a list of parts with part numbers that would drop in quite easily with little mods. I found the 350 to have an excellent balance of power and streetability, and im planning to keep mine as a super stock super sleeper type of truck, same wheels and everything, with a/c and decent mileage. I was also thinking of getting an exhaust system with cutouts so i can have the noise when i want it, and hush it when i dont.

I meant a 9" or whichever is the one that holds up like a spartan.

yea send me those links... they would help out a lot...
right now the truck has the "iron duke" 2.5L 4cyl 5speed
the engine is running strong with over 350k on it...
the interior basically needs to be replaced i need new door panels new dash etc because most of it is just cracked or gone to shit.
as far as the body.... the truck is fine... no dents etc just needs a really damn good paint job (currently spray painted lol) and while im at it im just going to buy new headlights and rear lights + new bumpers to get the shiny chrome back in there.
electrical is fine.... only thing thats not working is the speedometer... i believe the sensor got disconnected and i never really looked into it.
one thing that does worry me on this truck is the brakes.. i would probably look into doing a rear disc conversion.
towards the new year i will be purchasing the new interior parts as well as the blazer seats to get rid of the bench seat. and i will also be purchasing all the chrome and lights for the exterior. what ill probably do is strip down the truck and tow it to have it painted.
lets see how my funds are by the end of this year....

as far as the sonoma...its going to stay stock for a while
btw im only paying $1000 for the truck.... its in great condition... paint is alright (white) 5spd....120k miles a/c needs new compressor....everything else works perfect
