The cars will be really clean and well done this year, and BTW the SHOW cars that are only SHOW cars aren't rice, they are SHOW CARS, only for SHOW.

nice to see you all knock on HIN based on past shows... i can see hte frustration!! I dont think i saw any civics and such with wacky hood ornaments and cottom jizzing out of the APC mufflers... this was a really different show...Anyways, if you are an Import or Euro fan, you have seriously got to kick yourself in the ass if you missed HIN this year. Bimmers outnumbered hondas... quality of the vehicles were way above par. I must say that this is by far THE BEST Hot Import Nights that Miami has ever seen. All due to several factors...they finally got judges who have done their homework and know what to look for, they had a screening process for cars pre-registration, and they used a larger part of the facility. I was extremely impressed... this could have been my last year at HIN if it was going to be like last years, but since they finally got it right, I'll be there for following years to come.

I am never going to HIN again, they gave Best Truck to an Avalanche with a paint job and a Gucci interior. -_- I was pissed, I think I deserved it; I rather would have given it to an s-10 that was there.

I was one of the judges there and I would def. agree that your truck should have won but the way that shows score a car gives him more points because he has more things done to it. your car is clean and has awsome motor work but when has a clean car won? thats just the way shows are. Why do you think that crazy eclipse with the s15 taillights wins HIN so dam much. The car looks like doo doo as a whole but since it has so much dam stuff done to it, it wins because of points. :jerkit:

omg people it's not hard to understand.

IN YOUR CLASS...whomever has the most points wins.

On a judging sheet you have a possibility of a certain total amount of points. THose points are given from exterior, to interior, to wheels, to stereo, to undercarriage, etc.

The more points you can score in each category, the more points you will have in the end. It doesn't matter if you're sponsored...if you can't score the points you're not gonna win.

CLEANLINESS of the sections in question is another big part. If you leave your doors closed because you don't have gucci interior, you're skippin' out on points that could be assessed for cleanliness. By the same token...if both you and your buddy have custom paint jobs, but you have orange peel and his is smoother than a baby's butt, then guess who's gonna score more points?

What class your in....you have to take a look at the competition and make sure that you're classified in a category that you should be classified in. If there's conservative, moderate or mild categories that you feel you should be in...then bitch about it. If you take a look around you'll notice that sometimes the people that score the points score them for a reason. Someone sportin' HRE's isn't gonna get the same amount of points as someone sportin' Rota's.

So if there's an M3 w/some stupid ricer kit, but its well painted, and nice and clean too....guess who's gonna get more points.

if it werent for the VIP class, I wouldnt even compete!!! The beauty of competingin teh VIP class is that the judge was an accredited judge from Dupont Registry and knows exactly what to look for when it comes to VIP (euros and luxury) tuning. VIP was very well organized and with no complaints. Ive been doing carshows for 3 years, and this was by far the absolute best organized one. The versitility of VIP class is just awesome. Now you dont have to be rice to win... take an example, you can mod with good looking point winning mods that dont compromise performance. My vision when I bought my C32 was to build a car that can take home a HIN/VIP trophy and still be able to kick ass and take names out on the road in a daily driver. Best thing about VIP class, stupid LV interiors, and way overdone ICE actually hurts scroring in certain classes.

keep in mind also that within each category is subcategories too. like for Exterior....you body kits or w/e u have lets say for example 0-10 pts. then under that same category u have cleanliness. and under that same category you have paint, etc. etc. so it's kinda tough. that's why ricey shit wins in certain classes. they've got more stuff to be judged on.

i kno exactly what you mean and i absolutely agree ... which is why i'd only compete if i was doing VIP. There are really 2 types of cars, show cars and clean street cars... VIP combines the elements of both, though unfortunately (or fortunately to some), you have to have a BMW/Mercedes/Lexus/Volvo/Audi/etc....... to enter in that class...but thats 1 thing i love about it...it was made for us true Euro-tuning heads out there. u're lucky to have that category, i'm sure alot of people wish there was somethin' similar to that. But most street racers could give a damn about car shows, they've realized how it works. Sure some people go just for the hell of it to have fun or w/e. But for those people that are wondering, it's not very easy to win, you really have to go all out, or be in a category where the competition is not much in order to win. OK then, explain how a paint job and interior gets more points than, engine work, body work and paint, intereior, stereo, suspension and brakes and wheels?
I did have my doors open, my WHOLE truck is spotless, you all know that, even though it's a daily I keep that shit cleaner than a fuckin operation room at John Hopkins. That Chevy was dirty in the wheel wells, door jams and didn't have anything done to the engine, suspension, brakes, and to top his off his "stereo" wasn't even hooked up, I looked that truck up and down, it was dirty and a mess.

I am just speaking the truth, I got ripped off and everyone knows it. How the fuck does a stupid POS Chevy Avalnche win an god damn IMPORT show. That doesn't make sense. They need to get qualified judged out there, not ghetto wanna bes and freakin people who think they know there shit. I wish Angel would have judged my truck, he knows his shit, not that ghetto kid who looked high. I just don't understand why an AMerican truck won an IMport show where there was a Japanese truck there that was cleaner and that had more people looking at it.

If his total points for paint scored more than your total points for all the other stuff, that's how he wins. simple. It's not hard to see why sometimes the ugliest most retarded and overdone stuff wins. for someone who has nice clean taste...and doesn't have the luxury of being able to enter the "VIP" class...most of the time, it's a waste of $$. Not to mention the majority of these shows are extremely disorganized......it's just a way for someone to make money.
