Yep.
Stay away from private loans unless you absolutely need them. Their interest rates vary around 9 and 10%. Exhaust out your grants and sub loans first.

if you're an FIU student go to www.fiu.edu/scholarships
you can apply for many of them, but it's a little late for this school year. you will have to check back next year.
there's another website where u create a profile and it tells you about scholarships available for which you qualify (according to the info you give them) but the name escapes me right now. i think it might be freewebs.com
if you check out the fafsa site....that's pretty much where you'll get the grants. but it's too late to apply for this school year as well. you will need to wait until next year.

if youre 19, live with your parents and they claim you as a dependant - your EFC will be pretty high. The only way for you to pay would be need blind scholarships and private loans.
On the other hand your parents can give you a letter of financial independance and stop claiming you on their tax returns - you'll get financial aid. But doing this might effect their EIC. So you have to weigh out the pros and cons.

i think the only pro's and cons i can think about are
Pro: Getting a get eduaction
Con: going broke and never being able to pay for anything.
I swear this makes me wanna cry everytime i think about school.

Not really - work with your parents to figure out how much you save thru the EIC. Run thru a FAFSa and look at your EFC. Depending on how much money you yourself make - your fin. aid will cover you.
I fell the same way as dee spectator, damn it's to late for almost everything,I've been a member of fastweb for almost a year, i've applied for many scholarships, and I've heard nothing from them, does anyone know of other sites for grants and scholarships.Legitimate ones please.

you can always check with your school, and ask for a pell grant or something.
i got one just last week cause they say my dad makes too much money so i was denied financial aid. i never understood financial aid.. i mean, his money isnt my money and all his money can't go to just me... sometimes your school tries to work with u. although, its kinda late, it never hurts to try.
