So My Mom Made A Suggestion: "Hey You Have A Camera Go To School For That."

So I Got To Searching And Found The Art Institute Of Miami For Photography.

i graduated from from the art institute of ft. lauderdale

it really depends on what major your in... i was in what was at the time... the graphic design program.. it was ok..it was mad expensive sometimes but what bachelor program isnt now a days... the school was smaller when i was there now its gotten bigger.. very organized and most of the teachers are pretty cool (atleast in the design program) im not sure how it is now since its been over 6 years for me... i was happy at times but other times i was very disappointed.. and for the money i spent.. i think i should have learned ALOT more...

what programs are you guys looking to get into... im big there with alot of main people and dept chairs so if u need help as far as ft. lauderdale i can help you out...

IMO though i think depending on what careers you guys are looking to get into.. your money might be spent better else were...thats my OP. ive been heading dade and fiu offer design and photo degrees and they are going to be cheaper.. and might even be better... AIFL has been also trying to get accredited.. im not sure if they finally did.. so you might be able to save yourself some money by taking cheaper crap requirements else were and get your real deal classes at the institute.. something you could not to when i was there in years 98-01 ...

LMK if you guys have questions and concerns with the school or what careers you guys are going to go into and ill try to help you out as much as i can..

i went for web design though...

it was a good school i learned a lot but learned more since i've been out of school. they definitely opened some doors for me.

i know some photography students, and they love it, so if ur passionate about it. go for it man

I don't know about the AI in SoFL, but my sister went to the one in NYC for culinary arts program. She loved it there and is going back for the managment program.

I was looking at photography and graphic design, even web design. i already have experience with web thou.. but schooling never hurts, i usually learn new shit anyway.

& i have the Army's G.I. Bill so money isnt an issue with me.. i got 35 G's to blow

Not sure if you meant my writing, or just in general.

Photography is something that you don't need school for. Having the right connects and having good work. Good work not so much thought. I've seen photographers make money and their pictures aren't that great.

Hey Driftmax did they teach you a lot on the web design? Did they help any with finding a job? What type of salary did you come out with or at right now if you don't mind me asking?
