It depends on A LOT of things IMO. Obviously, if I have the funds. Also, what are the chances of the dog surviving the procedure, because if I have to pay to see them suffer then I won't do it. However, I don't understand how some people take dogs into their homes thinking it's a free ride and no responsibility. I wouldn't own one if I simply couldn't afford it's Vet bills every year.
Before my dog was put to sleep, we had the option of doing an operation which would have cost aprox. 1k. The Vet told us it isn't guaranteed and that it'd be a lot better if she was put to sleep. In those circumstances, I feel the dog should be put to rest. I didn't want to see my dog suffer more than she was.
I love dogs and would pretty much do anything for my own within reason and the aformentioned.

I have been asking myself something. Why dogs cant have insurance. Shit is expensive here for mascots.
There is health insurance for pets. Ask the vets about it. You need to insure your pet at a very young age.

Yea, I would have gotten pet insurance for my dog, but she was too old as it was. My manager has it and it's like $100 a year or something... and you get discounts on certain things and visits.
