ok so yea dude at rick case was talking to my dad and uncle who ride honda and he gave me a awesome deal i wont say what though, but i've come down to this...

either a '06 CBR600RR OR '04 R6 w/ R1 Exhaust setup conversion

will be my first bike...

btw... this will be around new years, cause i need to save up:lawl:

i love the R1 but that shit is just wayy to big for me now, im 5'-9'' 125lbs:(, also to powerful for a n00bie

no need for negative b/s

one my cousins ride a CBR1000RR and the other rides a CBR1000RR, R1 and a GSXR1000, yea he has 3, so rick case honda knows us pretty well, which is why i got this nice deal

hmmm... since its your first bike and they are both going to be 600's. Go for looks thats all it comes down to, cause the RR is the slowest out of the class, well less hp i mean. the r6 is nice i would have gotten it but since i use my bike daily, "supposibly" hondas last longer and i had a better deal =). lol with your weight you can stay with your cousin with just a few mods , and that way you can learn the bike as you build it. personally 600's are all you need , 1000 are just a faster death... jk, ill get one when i outgrow my 600rr.

Good luck with your decision man, they are both great bikes.

thanks they are my 2 favorites and so is their older brothers, never liked the gsxr's or zx's

well i dont really like the one side high beam and the other low on the honda, whereas on the yamaha its normal w/ projectors

if you never rode a sport bike at all. a 600 cc bike is still very dangerous..first bike i ever rode was my bros gsxr 1000..and that broke me in real good..im assuming you know atleast how to ride..so it would be ok..me really i would go suzuki or go home..suzuki's are reallt realiable..tommorow im test driving my friends 05 gsxr 600 to see if i take over payments:x:..good luck

ill get the 07 600rr honda. the shit moves pretty fucking good for a 600. but if is going to be a bike you are going to learn on, i would get a old shitty bike for like 2 stacks and learn to ride

first bike 600 is the way to go though.

the pic you posted is a 07 not a 06

about the headlight on the cbr. just ride with your highbeams on,
I would get the cbr. although Ive never riden a yamaha. the cbrs are the best street bikes. ive read countless reviews on the cbr and the cbr always comes out on top. its also the lightest bike with a dry weight of like 360 i think. the only thing i notice that is missing is a slipper clutch. i plan on getting a cbr 1k hopefully next month for my 1st bike. for the price difference i think you should get the 1k.

between those 2 bikes i would choose the r6. i used to have a 99 r6 and that bike was the shit. i had a few mods done to it and my fatass was beating fuel injected gsxr 750's with a carbed 600. r6 are niiice. youll get ranked on by everyone though cuz everyone seems to believe that the r6 is a "chick bike" in reality i see more chicks riding 600rr's than r6's...

99 r6 with -1+2 gearing, 520 chain, mig full exhaust, k&n filter, dynojet pro jet kit, and a ported head. and in the time i had my bike i raced 2 00-03 gsxr 750's beat one by a liiiittle bit and beat one by alot. i also raced 1 04 gsxr 750 and beat him by about a bike. with the gearing i had on my bike i would jump everyone haaard and then they would catch back up in the top end. i weighed around 280lbs at that time and my 600 would power wheelie in 2nd w/o chopping the throttle.

well i agree with clunker on modding a 600 to beat a 750, and that can be done easily all you really need is full headers and exhaust, clutch work, 520 convert, power commander, and gp-style shifter + cluthless up shifts(most important) =D, thats what im trying to work on and if anything ill slap a tank on this bitch and ride out on 1000's =D lol but with all that cheese wasted you could have just bought a 1k. I thought the RR was the chick bike..... i barely see r6's =/.

thats one thing i like about yamaha not too many on the street. The gsxr is played out more than a civic. The rr comes next. Basically just sit on the bike and based on comfort then looks pick the bike. dont worry about performance because your not a pro, u will never use either bike to full potential so it dosnt matter. another thing is this is florida the only turns your gonna hit is the rocky off ramps. alot of people never grow out of the 600. Self control and gear will keep u safe, do not get over confident after riding a week and everything goin good for you because that will bite u in the ass. Respect the bike you pick man...good luck

BS:jerkit: Sorry, but thats definately not true. I have a 600rr and its the best thing I could ever get my hands on. Yea, and its true that with a few mods you can take the R6. I eat them for breakfast. :lawl: But are you looking for something good to ride, or are you just looking for power? I say go with a 600rr. Dude with a pc3(powercommander) and full header w/ exhaust you can stay with 1000s. Anyone have something to say about that? lol. I will tell you that I couldnt be happier with my 600rr and I dont plan on moving up. What for? I already top at 175. And stock 600rr top at 163. I really dont think there more need than that.

1ARUN your right, thats why i got a 600, and it is true always wear gear, if it wasnt for my x-11 i wouldnt be here right now. long story short, i slammed on the front brakes at 40+, bike endos and throws me off and lands on me my shoe saved my life cause i slide into the curve, always wear gear ppls, it will hurt less =). so always be aware and dont get too cocky. Ride safe =)

well as you may know drivers make a huge difference..but if you beat a few 750 chances are your bike was really healthy..but thats a rarity..i used to go to the races all the time and you would never see many bolt on 600's taking 750's...the kawi 636 now with exhaust, power commander, intake, gearing and a good tune would walk on 750's pretty easy until top end came around..all the r6's i would see would not be that impressive..

A friend of mine with a 600 is right there with me. He has beat me a couple times. He also weighs about 130 and has his bike extended and some other things he wont tell anyone. But yeah I believe a 600 beating a 750 with the right driver/mods no problem. like ive seen a single cam vtec all motor beat a type r all motor. shit happens.

The big bad busa is your friend then. It takes some work on a busa to hit 200, it takes a lot more work on a 1000. A busa with a big bore and all the bolt on MIGHT make it. Remember, the faster you go, the more power you need to go faster, 0-100 is not the same as 100-200. I am thinking about getting a busa but those damn 1000's look so damn sexzi

my bro used to race ppl's bikes for money back then at Okee before he stopped riding..he rode a turboe'd busa that did well over 220 mph against another busa on bottle i think it was full buillt..my brother is a crazy ass mofo..his name is Carlos.they call him "tre deo" cuz he lost his three toes on his left food when riding one time

Indeed. I don't have a bike of my own YET but I have ridden my friends bikes so I can tell you there is a huge diff between a 600 and a 1000. I've ridden gsxr 600 and 1000 a honda 1000 and 600. The fastest of all was a gsxr1000, fast enough to not make me want to ride . Compared to the 1000s, the 600s feel like mopeds, their so easy to flick around it's not funny.

I have a jacket but its mesh and grabs the wind not really that great for toppin out your bike, but it is good on the streets. If I crash at 180 and liv road rash will not be my problem.

I dont agree with you at all myfriend. A 1000 will scare even an experienced 600 rider. Its way to much power to learn ,tooch gas it will flip. Get a 600 and sell it when or if your ready for the 1k.
