ok i been working out for a few weeks, and have been on n off the past few years but my body refuses to gain weight, now that i have a more stead schedule and work i want to start getting some supps...what should i take to gain some weight, im real skinny..like 5'8-5'9 and fluctuate between 135-145ish..i want to get up to maybe 160-170 n see how i like it...i do myself gaining a very small amount of mass from working out and people have noticed more "cuts" but i want to get bigger...any suggestions?
i thought there was a thread bout this but i couldnt find it

Plain and simple... you got to eat until you can't stuff anything down your throat anymore 10x daily.
I went from 160-180 in a matter of 2 months. You gotta pay to play.

eh.. also.. there is another way.. not exactly legal.. buuuuuuut im not gonna get into that. i just happen to know a lot about it cause my roommates and almost everyone else was doing it and they were big gym buffs.. they only did one cycle and the rest was all them. .

If you want to gain weight SAFELY, graduate to a high carb / high calorie diet, until you've reached your goal. Lots of pasta and starches, ftw.

i wouldnt advise a beginner to use steroids..simply because they can hurt themselves and dont even know how to gain weight naturally!not a good move

I totally feel for you since I'm in the same boat 5'7 140 with a fast metabolism. When I used to hit the gym hard I gained about 10 lbs in a month but I struggled to do so. Here's how I did it, eat at least six times a day obviously healthy, avoid simple carbs except after the gym, eat an hr before going to the gym and right after. As for supplements, 100% whey, Cytogainer, Amino Acids, and Cellmass. If you wanna be hardcore take NO explode too. Take a protein shake when you wake up and one before you go to sleep. Also drink lots and lots of water. As for exercising, you have to be hardcore in the gym, switch your rountine every two week, superset exercises, dropset exercises, go for at least 12 sets. That's all I can think of for now.

As for a supplement, Pro Heavy Weight Gainer 900 is good. take it with milk and you get about 900-something calories. make sure you take it at leat 3-4 times a day including right before u go to bed. Muscle Milk and Cyto Gainer are good too. you could take them the same way. After a while, add in some creatine in the equation. i personally liked NO Shotgun. just mix it with juice or gatorade cuz it taste like ASS with water.

4 900 calorie shakes mean 3600 calories before solid foods. he'd be up to at least 5600 calories in the day if he has the remaining 3 or 4 meals. thats a little excessive for someone his weight.

fat can never and will never turn into muscle.
muscle does weight more then fat. but also muscles FEEDS on fat. it doesnt just magically convert it into muscle like POOF. every time you work out ur muscle it tares it a little bit, but as it heals it grows. and its the fat around it to heal and feed itself the energy needed to heal the tiny tares.
eat tons of lean meat to put on lean muscle mass, and be sure to be lifting HEAVY weights to gain the large muscle mass. eat every 2 hours and if you want to weight 180 lbs eat 180g of protein a day

thats really excessive, his body maybe needs 5000 or less..
remember every 3500 calories is 1 lb. so adding what you eat, and how much ur defecit is per day and how many calories you burn while working out make sure your up about 4000 calories a week from what you need and you will gain a 1lb a week, if you want to gain more adjust the numbers

muscle milk is pretty good... when i was working out i would only eat rice once a day at dinner, and a sandwich at lunch time, for breakfast just a toast and coffee... i was actually gaining weight i went up to 154lbs, with gym after work and musclemilk...
now i eat rice on lunch and dinner, also my reg breakfast, and im at 146lbs, no gym nor muscle milk...
i gotto start working out at teh house

i gained 25 pounds in like a month and a half. I talked to a personal trainer and he told me to eat 5 meals a day, basically 3 regular meals and 2 snacks(healthy) it really works!

everytime you eat, it jumps ur metabolism. keeps your body functioning at amazing levels
Well i think hydration is probably just as important as eating regularly, i hadn't seen this anywhere so i thought i should mention it.

jus wanted to thank u guys for the info..i thin im going to go with muscle milk starting this weekend....ive been hittin the weights pretty hard and i feel like im getting back in shape...now i just need to gain the weight...
it is def not cheap...sheesh i think my appetite has grown since i been doin this "eat till u cant eat anymore" thing at every meal

-Consume more calories than you burn, that's the key.
If you're hitting the gym daily you're burning alot of calories.....so you either:
A) Do a less intense workout and eat a little more than usual
or
B) Keep doing the same routine and increase your caloric intake
(pancakes and syrup, eggs, lean bacon and sausage for breakfast--more carbs for lunch--veggies and meats only for dinner)
-Slow down your metabolism!
Try to eat less frequently throughout the day but bigger meals. When you consume bigger meals and eat less frequently your body will try to retain as much as it can to "store" energy.
