95-ish Maxima vs. 02 Beetle

So I was on US1 and I see this white max on black wheels turn onto to US1 with me. "It's real clean" I'm thinking, I roll by him and see a pillar full of indiglo gauges so I'm like, a little ricey but maybe they're functional. As we approach to a red light I see someone run out of the car and run to the trunk, then run back in the car.

My first thought is nitrous...my second thought is "sweet, he wants to run" After a few block we get next to eachother and go, I pull ahead and stay there for as long as the race lasts, which is about til 80mph. After that he follows me to the avenue where I turn on to go home and it's obvious he wants to run again. We go again from about 30mph, I stay half a car ahead until 100 mph then he starts to pass me. Wow that shit's pretty fast I'm thinking. He later rolls his window down and tells me it's a turbo max on alcohol injection.

Yikes. His car was packed with people too, 5 speed. It was sweet

I have suspension work... yea i can take turns quick, but it doesn't matter if you're going in a straight line... fwd is fwd.. and the weight distribution wont help either car... so if you're racing on a stock suspension or modded think it would matter in the race? nope. maybe if you race the cars on 68th st passing the palmetto where that little turn is lol... by the hospital..

Considering about 500 or so went to the european and asian market of the 1500 C32s ever produced, i guestimate about 1000 or less in the whole US. The more we come along the easier it becomes for others to just spend maybe half that pricetag and do it much quicker and easier because of the documented stuff. Dont get me wrong ive driven an SRT4 and its fast as hell, but were talking 10yr car that wasnt even made for going fast(kinda) and youre trying to make it to outlandish things. My car didnt come turbo and if i decide to still go the turbo route ill make 500 whp on stock internals so having a car from the factory turbo doesnt mean anything.. look at the scion TC there making great power for lil 4 cylinders

the only thing that my car coming turbo from the factory did for me vs turboing an n/a car is that i didnt have to tap for oil lines. EVERY single thing you would change on an NA car was changed on my car too. My motor did not come out of a eclipse, if anything it came out of some mexican stratus. but then again all i ever here is that the maxima motor is a race motor, designed for some race event by the great engineers at nissan... so seriously, whats holding you guys back?
