Any of these in the works? If not, get da steppin', bish! lol jk
Anyways, it would be cool to see some of this, soon. :x:
acutally it is in the works, I'm setting up some subdomains to make browsing the site easier. Soon the site will have some very cool new features to include a gallery and such.
I'll be doing a lot this weekend when i am off of work and have nothing better to do.

Hey, I remember the Car of the Month thing. That was really cool.
Man, this site used to make a good first impression. but now...................
So I'm guessing it will be a seperate page from the forum. I know that VBulletin has an index front page where you can add pages by using php include. If you set up subdomains they will be in another folder which would mean you would have to change to full URLs linking to the subdomain. IMO it would be easier to utilize the vB interface instead of doing the whole subdomain thing.

IMO it would be easier to utilize the vB interface instead of doing the whole subdomain thing. That what i'll be using it's called a CMPS. But I'll be setting it up to run off a different subdomain so that people can either go to forum.floridastreetscene.com and be directed right to floridastreetscene.com/forum or they can go to myhome.floridastreetscene.com which will take them to floridastreetscene.com/myhome.
by doing it this will people that want to go directly to the CMPS will be able to with ease, and the other users that don't like it wont have to worry about it. pluss there will be short cuts on the nav bar on the forum/site so you can switch back and forth as desired.
Why? Wouldn't it be easier to have floridastreetscene.com go to myhome, and have myhome contain a link to the forum? You've seen my site and you see how ballistik.org or ballistik-entertainment both go to the index, from there users can go to the forum. If they want direct access to the forum they simply add forum to the end of the url. It's a lot easier than forcing users to type in myhome before floridastreetscene, which is a long URL, btw.
BTW your Content Management System will put more strain on the server's CPU, and if it runs off SQL as well, then you'll get more usage with it. From what I know, you don't need any more usage than what it is now. I used to use a bunch of CMS's and I have turned around from it as they ended up offering more tools and addons than I needed, making it slower for users to visit the forum. vB is known for being a fast forum as compared to many others, so unless the CMS is as fast, you might be making things a little slower.

^im with you on that one.
i dont see a need for a triple entry on the site. like i said, the cmps is already set up there just isnt any content so its not live. and yes its an add-in for vbulletin called vbadvanced and its already installed.
i installed it in my forum also but like i said, i have no content so i havent enabled it.

I have not had anyproblems with it not running right on dragunited.com it seems to work fine.
as for the url think you can do either way to get to the pages. if you want to just type floridastreetscene.com/myhome but i'm going to setup the sudomains to redirect just for my own preferences, it wont effect how anyone else uses or views the site so it will not comprimise anything.
but for now i'm back to bed because i'm calling out work due to a nasty headcold. been drinking the tylenol the last 2 hours trying to feel somewhat decent and it's not getting me very far.

i dont think anyone wants to type "myhome"..........
vbadvanced is semi-customizable by the user. once they get to the home page they either hit new posts OR forums.
remember Less is More. trying to make all these different ways to access the website is overkill. if this was a company website i understand but this is FSS fer gods sake............
