x2

I have two midterms this week.

the teachers gave us a review, so I go back in my notes and book and write down the info. after I write it all down. I just read it over and over bout 5 times every so often. I like to read it before I go to bed to see if I retained the information

hearing it u remember a lot less, but when you rewrite it your brain thinks its something new that your dealing with and stores it differently.. theirs a whole percentage thing i forgot from pysch class..

but write it down 2 times and you will be GOLDEN

you dont need to write down 2 times. You need to use the 4 methods of studying, visual, auditory, hands on, and whaddayacallit...writing i guess whatever.

Anyways, what im trying to say is,organize all the terminology and names and whatever it is that you need to learn in alphabetical order, write it down, read it to yourself, repeat it while you read it and afterwards to see if you remember, and try to apply what you know
(Like, when i study anatomy, i write the concept/name/functions in alphabetical order, write them, read em, try to repeat it from memory, and try to name the parts from the pictures) Also, a CD in your car with the recordings of your voice of the concepts/names/stuff you need to learn, and "sing along".

i usually just type all of my notes into a word document, like anything i'm studying and it usually does the trick.

for my s-7 i had online quizzes, i just did as many of them as i could and when it gave results it showed me how i did on each unit/chapter and the ones where i scored poorly i just re-read them and did questions focused on those chapters.

if you dont have anything like that then yea... go with taking down notes so you can remember better

What works for me is like others said, re-writing the notes. Also, I study about a week in advance and I study in sections. When I've covered all those sections, I go through and just review it ALL and I find that for the most part, it all comes back to me. I usually always do this.

I studied 2 days before a chemistry test and got a B. Rewrite everything you need to know, that works for mostly everyone I know. Also study outside of your house, to many distractions.

Write or type it down.

Do yourself a favor and study where you have no distractions. I would leave my house and study elsewhere. i did this for 4 months to pass my 8 hr. EIT/FE exam.

EDIT: Take some Ginko B. for memory

I'm terrible when it comes to studying. What I did during my EMT class and NREMT was read the book, read in sections, and after that read the reviews in the back with the definitions. For my NREMT hence there are 6 sections I read and read and read and read the sections. Someone mentioned about the hands on, and that always helps.

Yea, I can only study at home when no one is around or sleeping.
