Me and some of the guys were having a discussion about track length. I would prefer to run the 1/4 mile any day over the 1/8 mile track. Minus the wait and all that other irrelevant shit, which would u prefer? Pros and Cons of both also.

well you are ignoring one of the main pros about the 1/8mile. You can go and hangout with friends, get a few runs, talk trash, set up races, and the drive home is nothing.
I love the 1/4 mile, but I am not down for spend 6 hrs in line for 2-3runs.
Now, do I prefer a 1/4 slip to an 1/8 slip? Sure. If two tracks were next to each other, with no wait, and one was an 1/8mile, the other a 1/4, I will do the quarter. But no choice is that easy.

1/8 doesnt seem fun to me, its too short =(. 1/4 is where its at I guess.
i like both but 1/4 is deffinatley better. but its true about the wait. 1/8 mile runs dont take forever

I've heard that hooking on that 1/8mile track is worse than the street.

but your neglecting the pro's of the 1/8th mile in your question. 1/8th mile has less tech, less wait time, more runs, and less oil downs. 1/4 mile racing IS better if you're in an event where you get 3 qualifying runs, then the ladder but to just eat shit i'd rather get the most runs in and have the most fun and thats 1/8th mile. the wait, and amount of runs is the most relevant part. you're paying to race, not to stand next to your car.

Yeah, i guess. If i had to choose though, the 1/4 mile is where i would stay. That track, in my opinion, is to learn how to launch...Maybe if that was a better conditioned track, i wouldn't mind. The pros of the 1/8 is gettin ur reaction time and 60 ft down and the cons is its to short
everyone's saying its hooking pretty good already.

1/8th mile tracks are a good place to go to dial in suspension and work on launches. I like them because they are usually dead. on t&t nights all the kids usually go to a 1/4 mile track and it makes it harder to get a lot of runs in to dial stuff in. after the car is set up i like 1/4 mile over 1/8th

I've been hearing and seeing the exact opposite and i've gone to moroso alot of times where i ran till i didn't wanna run no more...It's just the distance, point blank...
i prefer 1/4 cuz most races dont end on an 1/8 and an 1/8 is like fucking and pulling out at the last minute.. its just to fast of a finish..
btw yani if your talking about countyline.. yes the track has gotten better... traction has gotten better everytime i go.

A couple of months ago I went to countyline and I just spun the stock kdw tires till half way down the track and I was babying the launch. I couldn't floor it at all if I wanted.
I did go last week and it looked like it was grabbing but I didn't personally run.

It's an srt4 on 17 inch 205 street tires.... what did you think was going to happen? You'll do the same at Moroso.

Majority of the weight of your E/T in a 1/4 mile track lies in the 1/8th mile. The only difference between the 1/8 and the 1/4 is throwing one extra shift which happens to be the easiest one. Countyline is great because you don't have to spend hours driving, waiting, tons of money on gas and tolls, and put as much abuse on your drivetrain. Majority of your time should be spent at the 1/8th and leave the 1/4 for official times once you've dialed in your setup and driving. 1/4 mile tracks are better suited for the fake ass racing that happens all over Miami.... roll ricing.

I win 1/8th's. That's a pro. Get better 60' ft's. Practice makes perfect.
1/4 is a good race. But that's more of high whp 500++ if you don't think your in low 12's or 11's. Its just making yourself look bad.

There's no question about it being faster... your engine just doesn't make enough torque to pull you through that long gearing quickly enough.
