how does it ride? i ahve driven the Evo VIII, but it was nothin special. is the IX a little better?

I'd say it rides just as harsh as an Evo 8. Power delivery is improved though thanks to the larger compressor housing and MIVEC and the gearing is shorter as well.

I'd say its a nice improvement over the 8 in terms of appearance and power.

I don't even know what AVCS is. But MIVEC is identical to VTEC, but it only controls timing and not lift. It provides better low and midrange torque. The downside is there are no cams available for it.
