so my brother takes my car over the weekend to keywest.... the car comes back ticking like crazy so i go to check the oil because i know this car is known for burning oil.... anyhow i pull out the dip stick and the dipstick came out but with the tube/housing that it goes in attached to it... seems like that shit broke off....where does that tube lead to directly? and is it welded?

Sounds to me like a hydraulic lifter(s) didn't get oil and they took a shit. Or push rods/rockers.
The tube leads to the oil pan.

yea its valve ticking... im guessing its just because the shit has no oil...
is that shit usually welded to the oil pan?

Thought you had a TC.
Not sure but do Foci's have HLAs? Hydraulic Lash Adjusters...my Probe used to have them and when I ran it hard they ticked and ticked.

I was just thinking also that the ticking could be an exhaust leak.
Get a rubber hose (about 3/4" or 1/2" diameter), and while the car is on use it to listen for sounds in specific areas. Or you can use your ears up close in your engine bay and burn your ear off. You choose!

I think the problem is a focus.
