Well... after almost a year of saying "i'm going to get it!" I finally got the head unit I think I would provide the most utility for myself.

JVC KD-DV5100

It's pretty plain looking. But it's a DVD player, plays MP3 & WMA CDs, and the main reason I bought it was... it plays MP3/WMA DVDs!!! with JVC's Giga MP3 format or whatever. I listen to a lot of music but I don't want an Ipod (i hate those things). This is perfect. I paid $235 shipped from an ebay store.

my DVD burner will burn those. 8.5 gigs of music in my vehicles is just to damn much music. I have a hard enough time with a friken CD full of MP3s.

I have my music classed by disc as to what i want to listen to.

ehhh, 4.5gb single layer dvd-r's are plenty.. unless you have a TV hooked up to that headunit good luck finding any songs, it has a slight lag also when looking through DVD-R albums.

i listen to a lot of DnB & trance/dance/techno mixes. they're usually all single track continuous mixes. so that won't bug me too much

Other than the lag while switching albums, its a great unit, you're gonna fit a shit load of trance in that :D

1 DVD will fit my whole dance/trance/techno mix collection (just the mixes). i have ~4.5gb of just those mixes. then like another couples GB of DnB. then the other maybe 20-30gb of shit is Rap/Hip-Hop, Dancehall/Reggae, an assortment of soundtrack songs, etc.
