No I'm not /myself. LoL

But I might as well.

Internship started today. They had me waiting almost 8 hours for NOTHING. I was supposed to meet w/some1 about my schedule and they didn't show up until late afternoon.

When they did finally show up, they were too busy to talk.

I missed an entire day of work for this b.s. but whatever. I racked up 7 out of 18 weekly hours.

So it looks like my schedule will be fun from now 'till the end of this semester. I'll be working 40 hours at my regular job, 18 hours at this place, and going to school full time.

Summer will be even better. I'll be working like 24-28 hours in addition to my full time job and full time school.

The only light at the end of the tunnel is . . . if I graduate as planned in December, I'll officially have a Master's Degree. Well . . . that and I'm hoping the project car will come together soon . . . so I can have a way to "get away" on the weekends or some shit.

Word to the wise though. As much as internships suck sometimes, if you're in school . . . find one. People out there want people to have experience, so start rackin' it up now.

i'll be doing group counseling, individual therapy/counseling/assessment and diagnosis.

they provide other services there, but the aforementioned will be the focus of my internship.

I will also back this statement up. It took me a good 4 months to find a job in my field because everyone was asking for atleast 1+ yrs. of experience. During that time, I interviewed with about 5 different Civil Engineering firms.

I am making an effort to really bring up my GPA. I was not my normal self when I was an undergrad. I was always an honor student till I hit college. I graduated sub 3.0 :redface:

Now, I am happy to say that my GPA is 3.41. I must maintain atleast a 3.25 GPA in my Master's courses to graduate. I am shooting for 3.5+ GPA (cum laude) which is very feasible if I pull off the min grades of A- & A, this semester.

Ev, I know what it is to do what you are doing. I was doing that since I was 18 yrs. old. I was working at Red Lobster & umpiring at a local baseball park when I first started FIU. It feels like it doesn't end. As you know, I am also pursuing a Masters (as you know) full-time, working 40 hrs. up in Ft. Lauderdale (54 mile commute each way), being a parent 24/7, & pimpin at the same time. You know what they say, pimpin ain't easy!

The way I see it, when I started FIU as a freshman, that was 8 yrs ago. Those 8 yrs. felt like it was just yesterday. Another year or so will only feel like another hour when you look back at it. When you look back at it & see your self at that present in time living a much easier life, I know for a fact you will pat yourself on the shoulder and say, "I'M BALLIN!" :owneddance:

Your welcome.I for one did not go the college route but, did have to go through alot to get where I am at now. Shit it even included a move from my dear home in FL.

When we get older I know we will all look back and laugh at this.



I see people like yourself and Manny and I look up to them. Very few people are go getters nowadays. Seems like alot of people just want shit to come to them easy. Funny thing that is not the way it is. If you want to make it you have to get it. I for one do not have a college degree so I had to use other options to get noticed so I can make it in life. I am very fortunate to have found a job in the field I am in.

i just pray that what i've sacrificed will pay off at some point (preferably not when i'm too old to enjoy it). i really love the field i'm in. i'm passionate about it and i do it because i love it, i care, and i want to m ake a difference. i know that sounds sappy but whatever. maybe if more people were passionate about what they do, things in the world would be al ittle different.

I also hope it pays off for me as well. I haven't finished my Bachelor yet, but I feel like I have come such a long way from High School...and then I see some of my cousins who are 25+ and have done absolutely NOTHING with their lives...they're working and making the same thing they used to when they started. I try to tell them, but oh well. It doesn't even have to be an education that you get...even certifications, licenses, etc...something that you can at least fall back on.
