sup guys.. ive been away for about 4-5 months from this site anddd now im back..

i just picked up an LQ9 engine w/ close to 12K on the clock..

im planning on doing the infamous LSx- based swap

already got the 6L90 trans that the engine comes with..

im not too familiar with any GOOD local machine shops, as my current setup was mainly off the shelf type stuff.

any recommendations??

i have a few buddies that already have LSx engines in their imps and caprices.. im just wanting to join the crowd thats all lol

believe me my LT1 has never failed me.. i just like the idea of how much easier it is getting power out of an LSx engine

how much $$$ does an lsx run for? i dun really wanna spend to much on my lt1 cuz im planning on getting a 2000-2002 maro ss.but i still wanna keep dis one. But if u got any extra parts lying around for da LT1 once u get an LSX. i got dibs lol

funny im planning on eventually getting a 98-02 F-body also..
i'll decide what im gonna do with the LTx engine when the swap is done.. and thats not gonna be for some time

ive heard a a few ppl mention mesa. if your willing to ship, ERL is also a good shop to look into.

ehh to be honest Steven , i just want some basic head porting and a valve job on the LQ9 heads, so i wanna keep it local and im trying to save some cash here and there.. and then im throwing on the LSx intake and camming it.. should make 400-420rwhp N/A with the usual bolt ons + cam.. im gonna be aiming for 550-575rwhp on la botella, and once this happens, i cant have the car as a daily anymore, no way no how

i already got the wiring harness, mounts and misc install stuff from Speed and Performance Inc. , they make kits for my car, so it should be pretty straightforward.. only bish is gonna be having time to do the swap, LOL..

if thats all your going to be going then any reputibler machine shop here should be able to do et. sounds like a fun build man, j00 must call me wen its done for a ride.

im working on a new build as well. i got tired of being a hair under 300whp so im looking for 400whp or bust :dancingcool:
