Reposted from Nat'l Coalition of Motorcyclists News:

Effective July 8, 2008, Utah will begin using a tiered licensing system for motorcycle endorsements.

If a rider tests on a 90cc or less motorcycle or scooter they will be restricted to 90cc or less.
If a rider tests on a 249cc or less motorcycle or scooter they will be restricted to 249cc or less.
If a rider tests on a 649cc or less motorcycle or scooter they will be restricted to 649cc or less.
If a rider tests on a motorcycle or scooter larger than 650cc they will be allowed to ride any motorcycle or scooter.

If a rider takes a motorcycle safety class on a 250cc, successful completion will waive the riding part of the license test for an up to 649cc endorsement. To get an endorsement for motorcycles above 649cc riders must use a larger motorcycle in the safety class. To use your own bike in a class you must have a permit, registration, and insurance. If a rider currently rides a motorcycle over 649cc they may obtain a skill test waiver by successfully completing a License Waiver Experienced Rider Course (ERC), a 5 hour course that costs $85.

Incase you didnt know, in florida you can take the test on a rental scooter to get a motorcycle licence./DISCUSS

makes mucho sense, but sucks on the other hand... i would be for it. goddam asshole miami drivers....
on a similar but not exact not, last night i actually saw a motorcycle try to cross flagler on like 64th, get hit by a car for whatever reason (didn't see him, wasn't fast/slow enough... i didn't pay attention til after i saw the bike pull out and then heard the crash) - i came back the same way and there were 5 cop cars there w/ lights on, both the lanes on flager were shut down, etc etc, the bike was still there w/ parts of it on the street but the biker was gone (prolly in the hospital).

moral? especially if ur on a motorcycle u gotta ten cuidado...
outta curiosity, you know if they're gonna start to pass that in other states, or just found it in utah?

Saw it on another forum so I posted it. I'd say its a good idea and will keep a lot of rooks from getting hurt on their brand new busas. Is it even possible to make that double u-turn inside the box on a sport bike?

That's good. I hear about people using little 250s to take their tests and then killing themselves a week later on busa or 1000.
