nice 2 hear man, yea its fun. but im actually so tempted to save up and do a road race event but 2 many expenses i have to take care of 1st ftl. so autox is def ftw for now.

dont worry about power so much, tires + brakes > all i think most would agree w/ that.

and imo a harness helps a ton. helped me keep control during turns, now i barely move around on the stock leather seats and can concentrate more on the actual turn and do it the best possible. before i would have to put my elbow on the door panel during turns to 2 support myself cuz i would slide into the door.

and obviously suspension would be great but im still stock on that area cant really say shit.

and gl finding out about the fans. if worse comes to worse just hook up the fans directly to the terminals of the battery so they on the whole time lol :lawl:

mod in this order for autocross:

1. yourself.. walk the course 3 times more than you want to.. walk with an instructor if possible

2. alignment. get the 3year warranty alignment from tires plus lol.. they'll hate you but hey you paid for it. alignment is one of the easiest ways to change the way your car handles..

3. get a harness.. 3" straps are definitely the most comfortable. G-Force sells nice 4pt systems for around $100

4. get a spare set of wheels and tires. yes this can be a little $$ up front but you'll feel better driving at 10/10ths knowing you aren't destroying your daily street tires. race rubber can be had for very cheap if you know where to look.

5. suspension helps. start with a stiff set of springs. not necessarily slammed, but better than you had stock. stiffer shocks as well.. after springs/shocks, think about a rear swaybar if your car understeers, and bigger up front if your car tends to wallow in those long sweepers..

6. if you so desire, go after some more power.. but you'll see you won't be faster by much.. i'm slower on boost (granted, on destroyed 6yr old non-autoX Rcomps) then i was NA..

oohhh man more info on that please? how does it work/how do you get it?

as for the harness i think it would be better to spend a little more n get the schroth, so at least it has asm.

http://soloracer.com/rallye4.html

or get the gforce 5 or 6pt for about the same price if you have seats for it.

Running on you daily tires isn't that big of a deal. It's better to run some decent street compound tires than a set of old/tired/heat cycled to hell race tires.

A set of springs isn't necessarily going to help if you they're not stiff enough to keep you off the bump stops, and your dampers aren't up to the task. If you don't get a spring/shock setup it would be more beneficial to get a good set of dampers first.

i was referring to cost effectiveness. 6month old race rubber is still 2 seconds faster than brand new rt615's

still think u should do brakes 1st before anything.

my next mod is def gonna be it. even though suspension would help out so much for my car.

cant wait, gonna do...

- Brembo Slotted Rotors all around
- Hawk HP+ Brake Pads all around
- Goodridge G-Stop SS Brake Lines
- Motul 600 Brake Fluid

that should be way more than enough stopping power

i believe tires plus and tire kingdom both offer 3year alignments.. i know i had one at tires plus back in the day.. when you go in though, get the guy to offer it... they like things being their idea lmfao

i still dont get it though, what exactly does it cover?

i go in buy an alignment + get warrenty.

then i come back whenever i want for 3 years claiming the alignments a little wrong or something, n tell them to change it to w.e settings i want?

if so, thats awesome :lawl:

pretty much, yes.. i'd space it out over 3 months or so though :D tell them the car is pulling or something..

then go back when the tech is doing the work and give him your alignment specs.. the dude won't really care if you're asking for specifics, the work is the same either way.

you don't need power to be fast at these autocrosses, you're probably faster than me in a drag

If your going to be doing HPDE's go with the Hawk HPS in the rear. It will give you more stability in braking zones, so you dont have to worry about the rear coming around on you..

actually now know what im gonna be getting and a lot cheaper cuz it was a combo deal.

- Stoptech Slotted Rotors
- Stoptech SS Brake Lines
- Axxis Ultimate Rads
- 3 Bottles of Motul RBF 600

idk if those pads are any good but def good enough for now. and pretty much getting them for free cuz of the price diff. so thats a plus.

but next set def gonna be hawk's

i will not be going :(

IMHO the HP+ is also better on the street because of their initial bite, that is if you don't mind a lot of dust and squeeling...
