Your better off getting mace. Bounty hunters and shit will take mase over stun guns because its easier to use more effective and there are less legal issues when you use it. With the tazers and shit its still pretty sketchy to carry. If your not law enforcement you really dont need. Its a waste of money. Your better off with mace.

A stun gun you have to physically walk up to the person and "stun" them.

A taser you can shoot from a distance and has hooks that burough themselves inside the skin of the attacker (or just the clothes) depending on distance.

A stun gun sucks because if the attacker grabs you, you will shock yourself too. A taser and the noise it makes is enough to scare an attacker away.

Im getting a police baton soon, sometimes late nights walking by a bridge to get to my house gets a little shady, a lot of people have been mugged there.

yeah.. but i don't see her trying to punch a guy either way.. i like the mace because it's hidden and can be shot pretty far.. how effective is it though? will it effect people like verdugo?

I bought my gf both a stun gun and mace. Go to the Gun Show since they are mad cheap. Bought the stun gun for $25 and she's had it for about 9 months already. I check it every month just to make sure its working properly. If you get a stun gun your going to have to remember to charge it for atleast an hour once a month.

U asking me? Well, if its self defense i dont see why. Lets say shes walking to her car after class and some dude attacks her and the dude has a heart attack and dies because of the shock (which is not likely, but yess its possible if the person has a heart condition). Its still self defense and no court will see it any other way. If she would get pissed off at you for leaving the toliet seat up and she walked over and shocked the shit outta you then maybe she could go to jail for assualt with a NON-LEATHAL WEAPON.

it works real good, you dont even need to hit them in the face for it to work if you catch them in the neck or chest they will still start spazzing like crazy because they will breathe in the fumes. plus its like this whole stream of shit you just keep spraying there ass till its all good

the best thing about the mase is you can run right after, you dont have a responisbility to stay there etc. with the stun gun you have a responsibility to call the police and shit. Im not sure how it works in fl but in other states if you tazer some one you have to call the police and your responsible for that persons life. With the mase you can gtfo and be done with it.

Mase works really well too in the fact that it does spread wide a little towards the end when hitting the target. so as long as your aiming at the facial area, you're good.

Its pretty much the same. The only thing that sucks about them is that the square thing on the end of the stun gun is the cartridge. Once those prongs are shot out you need to buy/insert a new cartridge. They sell the cartridges in packs of 5 i think though and they are not that expensive, but still.

Get her some mace. A once you shock the bad guy, he can still fight back. With mace, once he gets that stuff on his face it's game over. I've had to use this stuff in Jersey were it's illegal to carry a slingshot (no joke) and the guy "stopped, dropped, and rolled" lol. I now carry a can in the car alongside my pistol incase I need to use something less deadly. A taser/stun gun can kill if you get one of the better ones.
