I'm looking for the .exe files that are used to shut the computer down and also to put the computer into standby, can someone help me out and let me know what the typical path for most computers is.

I'm trying to program my remote so I can put the computer into standby when i want to.

it's just called shutdown.exe

if you open up a command prompt and type "shutdown /?" you'll see the diff parameters.

well the shutdown.exe is only for remote access use for some weird reason. I don't get that. I tried to use it but it didn't work.

I did however find a file that will logme off the computer which is acceptable for the time being.

I can't seem to find the one for putting the computer into standby either. what a pain in the ass.

nah it's not... if you go to the command prompt and type say shutdown -r it will restart your pc, etc. i've done it before.
