Nascar has prepared for this by using "the car of tomorrow" the shape of the car does not represent the manufacturer anymore. All cars are exactly the same. Toyota might have to step it up though and you can bet that other foreign manufacturers will try to step in.

They were also told to turn down the horsepower in the Nationwide Series. They were following the same specs as everyone else and were able to squeeze more power out of the engines.

if this is true Nascar should not allow auto makers in the series but Neutralize the chassis and allow the teams to work on their own engines as they do now.. Really the only thing that is different on the cars now is the nose above the bumper.

The teams are bigger than the manufacturer. If hendricks switched to Toyota or a "no name car" would you stop being a fan of hendrick? I wouldnt.

Currently there is one chassis which is Dallara one engine manufacturer which is Honda, and one tire provider which is Firestone. There was an engine summit the later half of last year. A few years ago Chevrolet and Toyota were also involved but Chevy did not have the reliability and Toyota couldn't produce the same power that the Honda Indy V8 made. Panoz used to one of the chassis they used but teams slowly started switching over to Dallara. Firestone has been around for a long time. They are looking at a chassis change in 2012 and are still developing it. The engine manufacturers that originally met were Honda, Audi,Fiat, Volkswagen, and Porsche.

I also have the build criteria of the new engines.
