looking to get a 3000k kit but cant tell the diff between 35 and 55 watts.
help?

the assumption would be that the 55 watts would consume more power, thus being brighter.
the temperature measurement would be the same between the two (3000 Kelvin)

Kelvin is just the color temperature (meaning yellow, white, blue etc.) Not how hot it gets.

the 55w hid is brighter but they tend to wash out some of the color. ex: an 8000k hid will look like a 6,000k hid

i know. reread his post.
the more power coming into the bulb making it brighter and the bulbs are just the same color temp.

ok so if i get a 55watt kit it would be brighter yellow right?

brighter yes but it would look closer to a 4300k. it takes away some of the color and brings it closer to a natural white
