05 GTO vs EVO

My friend and I were cruisin down A1A on the beach last night in his GTO and this EVO with 4 people pulled up next to us. The Evo still had his shoe polish numbers on his windows from racing Friday night at Moroso (found that out later), so I figured we might be able to get a run at him. Anyhow, we went at it twice on the roll, 2nd gear about 35mph, friend pulled on him a car length the first race up to about 70mph. The second race, same thing 2nd gear, this time he bagan to pull on us hard and as he got about a car length something blew on him. Radiator fluid everywhere and nasty smoke coming out the exhaust. He pulled right over and we came back to see what was up. Anyhow, we found out he was spraying the 2nd time. I'm thinking blown head gasket.

GTO - K/N, Magnaflow exhaust, Short shifter

Evo - From what I could see....Exhaust, Intake, Tubular exhaust manifold, spray

The guy showed me his timeslips, w/o nitrous 12.8, w/nitrous he was in the 11's, don't remember the exact time.

They can do it without spray, you just got to know where to spend money on though instead of wasting money on a tubular manifold and such. Racing with 4 people in the Evo?:slap:

it always depends tho, if there were four chinese people in the evo that weighed 100 pounds each... and two average joes that weighed about 200 pounds each then it would be fair

anything is a fair race. the evo went for it, that means he thought he could win so its perfectly fair.So true....and it cost him his motor...oh well!! next time...he will make sure that he has the correct bottle pressure before he decides to suck on the bottle! and I highly doubt that he blew the HG..we run up to 32psi on the stock HG from time to time! It sounds to me like he detonated the motor!!

i dont see how the wrong bottle pressure would of blew his motor....was his pressure low or really really really high? if it was low the car would of just sputtered....if it was high how high was it? we always run it around 1200 psi

The point I was making is that i'm sure the next he decides to run....he will really give it some serious thought.

i doubt it....ive blown a lot of motors and i still dont give a fuck lmao.

But he might be different (because im sure an evo motor is more than a honda motor or an LS1)
