I have a 3200HD from Lincoln Electric, I wanted to know if anyone has a Magnum 100SG feeder gun.
Has anyone else perhaps Tamago, attempted to weld 12-16gauge Aluminum with a Mig?
ThankYouShawn

I have both welded and unwelded aluminum before, send me a PM

Never tried to MIG it, i've TIG'd thin stuff before (charge piping), it wasn't as hard as I expected, came out rather nice. Cast AL is worse.

well first thingis first u gotta clean w.e you are welding with a wire brush or something and your gonna have to crank up the heat on that little box but you should be ok as long and it is not alot of welding

It's a 16 gauge item, going to make some of these for my car...
The welder has a 30% duty cycle at 90amps It can crank more amperage but per reading up a bit 16 gauge doesn't require too much heat.
Here are some samples of what I'll be welding.

Just be sure to weld it real good, so that you don't blow your manifold when you run alot of NOS.
This guy I know, Brian, his Eclipse topped out at 140 and he blew the manifold, it caused his floorboard to fall out and he spun out. Very embarrassing, not only that, but he lost the pink slip to his car in the race and the dude that won it said that he and his "mad scientist" friend would have to tear apart the block and replace the piston rings he had fried.
So seriously, get those welds right!

what gauge .060 ? i like tooo weld .060 at about 70 amps. 30% duty cycle is kinda low that 3 mins out of every ten mins u can weld at 90 amps. soo don't be in a hurry and u should be fine. just make sure to clean the shit out of w.e u are welding

I've just been exposed to laser welding for the past 1 1/2 months at this biomedical contract prototype gig I'm working on. shit is insane.
I need to get myself a mig welder, I was hooked on welding since I had to boot camp myself on an arc welder for 5 months for a project we did.

It's not at easy as it may seem.. Welding it from the center is a lot harder than butt to butt.
I'll take his booger cans as long as his mani's stay looking like this...

i never mentioned anything about butt to butt, you did.
and when i say turkey point welders, most people will understand there would be no boogers on something like that nos can. you don't have to explain how "easy" it is, or isnt
