Anyone else into it?
I used to race electric back in 95 when I lived in L.A and was pretty good at it.
Got back into it here, bought a 1/8 RC8 Nitro buggy and found a nice off-road track in Cutler Ridge. A few guys were there practicing and I was able to hang with them considering I haven't driven in years.

mikey races electric indoor and i've been to the track in homestead to watch the on road cars a few times but don't personally race.

I'm into it. I just got an electric buggy for the track in cutler ridge. But I've raced on road gas/electric and indoor electric

Nice Mikey, what did you get.
These new brushless systems are fast as hell. Making alot of the gas people convert over to electric. The Cutler Ridge track is open Thurs-Fri-Sat. $10 to practice. I'll probably go out there on Thursday. The owner of the track is the owner of Extreme Hobbies on Bird. Nice guy, helped me tune the engine. He said he's going to start doing races there pretty soon.

Did some research on your car and tire problem... this is what I found...
Standard size 17mm hex hubs attach the wheels to the driveshafts. Special wheels with low-profile tires are included with the car, but any street or 1/8 buggy tire will adapt to the Inferno GT.

Yup, but the body of the Ferrari is too fkn low profile...

So i'd have to run the rc car with no shell.

Mikey

or cut the body to allow for the tire size.

Picco P3 .28 with the 2mm carb/venturi.

Two Speed (forgot what gears) throttle set to 15 % if I go 100% of the 15% throttle the stock tires explode.

Yes, I gave them to my brother he has a stock Inferno with the WRX body. Since it has a different shell design it is lifted higher and doesn't interfere with the shell. Unlike the F430 shell it's much lower just looks completely out of place. Since I have ceramic breaks on the car, whenever you hit the brakes the front dives in and krrrrrrrrrrrr or in Gucci Mayne's way... BURRRRRR

the foam tires can be trued down.

although, you would have to get a tire truer...

They worked great though without the body... just sort of pointless to get the F430 shell....

I think I found a solution, Going to test it and see how it works soon.:fingersx: Just need a bit of time.

I've been out of it a long time. I sold both my gas and electric cars when I got the Integra and used the money to buy stuff for it.

Hell I had an airtronics M8 radio that thing was bad ass but I'm sure it way outdated by now.

Its usually open Thur and Fri 7-11pm and Sat 4-11pm. I get a text from the owner to confirm when they're open. Sometimes when it rains too much it floods and they have to treat the track. He has also been doing some work on the pit area and the driver stand. Actual racing is almost ready to happen. He got a vendor out there with pinchos and other food items this week.
It was awesome last night...the track was hooking up. I might go now..just got to fix the exhaust pipe that came off.

Pain in the ass to get Associated parts last minute though. Warrick's or RC Hobbies has the most around here. Other than that it's on the internet.
Good thing about my RC8 is that it has a conversion kit for like $100 to convert the chassis to electric if I decide to switch. Just bought a modded .21 Pro Tech 5 port to be ROAR approved.

Went over to the track thursday evening with my son. Its pretty amazing how fast some of these little things are.

There was a guy who brought a truck that had a 29cc motor on it, but it wasnt allowed to drive on the track, though it would have been a site to see. Was anyone out there that night?

I wasn't there unfortunately, but I'm sure it's a safety issue. He has to follow certain ROAR (the sport's sanctioning body) rules to be able to keep the place open and not need to pay for insurance.
Cars that big need bigger and stronger barriers.

The young kid with the black hair is an awesome driver, I have yet to see anyone there who out drives him. His sister is not bad to look at either.

I wouldnt mind buying someones used elec truggy/buggy to mess around with. What do you all drive, so I can see when you all are out there?
