Who Karts?

Recently acquired a 80cc (thought it was a 75cc) Non-Shifter. Definetly needs some TLC but the frame is in excellent condition.

Post pics later.

Honestly Xtreme is nice and all for a beginer or a person just looking to waste some time. After you get experience those 4 cycle karts and that small track is just... Not entertaining anymore.

As a kid I've always taken a passion for karting. Just never really had the opportunity or funds to really devote energy towards it.

As time progresses I will eventually upgrade the braking system and replace the 80cc with a 125cc

Convert it to a Shifter and of course have to then look into electronics.

Here's a clip of some 125's in action

Nothing like unwinding at the end of the day at work by doing 70+ mph in the streets in front of the office.

The black peg leg on the right is mine, "ol' bessy". simple old school go kart.
The other black and yellow one is a 12 hp with homemade CVT. gets the jump on the karts but obviously can't reach speed after 60.
And the other 3 are easy karts of various sizes.. from junior level to 120cc to 125cc

These things rip!

We have a 9 hp two -stroke engine.. older west coast custom motor that's at the office up for grabs... it just needs a gasket rebuild and carb kit.

I was going to outsource the parts and retro fit it to my kart for a combination of top speed and really unstable frame.. LOL makes for a fun time, until you flip it. (I have)

This go kart was custom made by one of the engineers I work with. He used to build battlebots. He fitted the custom CVT as you can see. made the biggest night and day diff. The thing weighs like 150 lbs and still does almost 60 mph. But the acceleration is outrageous

It also has a Limited Slip differential, and twin disc brakes

He built this shit last month and only took him like 3 weeks.

I walked in April.. just working under contract now for a biomed company. contract is almost up and I'm looking for more perm position.

ISS Mike came by the office one day since he lives close and got to ride one of the easy karts

Of course I inspired the karting frenzy where I work because I brought "Ol' Bessy" in for fun. then in turned into 2 go karts. then 3 ... ...then 4. I think they are breeding.

Dude my go kart is all jacked up. We do circle racing in the parking lot sometimes and use the slowest (mine) in front. We use it to block all the fast ones from going by.... so it gets really fun around the turns.

but my shit is all bent and the frame got a little twisted, that's how hard we were running them. So she is going under the knife next week.. bend the frame back together, weld a single seat, new rubber... and eventually a live axle with disc brake like the other ones.

Nice...

I actually have a friend that is in process of getting into F3 so once he gets back from Argentina we'll be linking up to practice at the local tracks.
