I know we have a lot of gun owners here, I'm about to order a Rock Island 1911 but no one down here has them for what i wanna pay (<$500) so I'm looking for a place that has reasonable FFL fees?? Post up shop name and transfer cost, thanks!!
I was gonna grab a phone book and just start calling, but let's face it FSS has someone everywhere so i figured why not start here lol...
btw Ace's wants $60. fuck that. :ughjerkit:

its gonna be a range gun, i have a colt series 70 and it shoots like a dream but i wouldnt wanna start messing with it as far as changing stuff out ( sights, beavertail, trigger job etc). The Rocks have proven they are a great gun for the $$... and I can get a tactical in matte nickel finish for ~ $500. My other option was a Springfield but i cant justify the extra money while losing features.
Kimber will never get my business, i've handled a few of their guns ~$1500 and they have all had horror stories from the owners.... FTF, FTE, bad mags, bad finishes... If i'm paying that much for a gun it better look and perform like i spent that much money every single time i pull the trigger.

the tactical is usually around $430 on gunbroker and matte nickel sells all day for 479 thru Centerfire Systems. Lous wants $580 for the regular tactical!!! haha :ughjerkit: ... Only thing with buying online is shipping and FFL transfer (usually around 50 for both).. I actually talked to the guy at Deltahawk and even tho he didnt have any in stock he gave me a good deal to buy it directly from him, so i'm ordering it friday and he should have it in a couple days.

Ah gotcha, the one I saw at the gun show was a hi cap 1911. I've read a lot of reviews on it as well and they say it's an awesome gun for the price. Only complaints I've read about them are about the finish but if it's just for the range gun then it should be no biggie. You can always send it out to get coated later.
I'm gonna get in contact with the guys @ Deltahawk soon. I wanna get one for a future gift :ban:

m1911.org has a lot of good info on these guns, and apparently their customer service is second to none... a lot of the top dogs at the Nevada location for Armscor are on the site to answer questions and resolve any problems ppl might have.

I guess like everything else these days, when things dont work correctly you hear about it much more than when they do... Im sure their guns are very good (when they work) otherwise they wouldnt be in business anymore, but having so many people give the same type of feedback turned me off to them.
and again, it wont be my carry piece and i don't compete, so i could never justify spending that much money... as long as the Rock goes boom everytime and hits within 2" of where i'm aiming, i'm happy lol
