what do i do now?

I wrote up a document stating that the handgun belonging to ____________ with serial no._________will now be transferred to myself.

Do i need to register it as mine with the state?

dont have to register shit unless you want to carry concealed then you have to pay for the class, and ect ect.

You don't need to register it. I would do a bill of sale just in case and write gift on it. You keep a copy and give one to the person who bought it for you.

wait a minute... so, if i bought a gun from someone and i've got a bill of sale and I decide to get my Concealed Weapons permit - I have to register said gun before I can have it concealed???

To set the record str8. In the state of Florida no handgun is registered to the owners. Only record is the original bullet fired by the factory with it's serial. When you get a concealed permit you do not give out any information of what you have.

I have a concealed, plenty of guns, and know what's up.

X2 The gun is only registered to you if bought brand new from an FFL dealer a private transaction is not registered
