the kicker cvt speaker is good. its made for small tight spaces and uses a small box. i had this in my single cab s10 and it is the most compact speaker and cheapest you can find that still bumps. i push all my speakers to blow and i never managed to blow thuis one 10 not even with a 502 amp bridged to about 800

i think i paid 125 for the speaker and the box.

350 for an amp and speaker isn't a bad budget at all.

puts you in at under 300, which leaves you some cash to pick up a wiring kit and some lumber to build a box/pre-built box. soundstream is a smaller company, but they make quality shit (my sub amp is an old school soundstream rubicon. its 7 years old and still working flawlessly). hifonics is pretty well known with the car audio guys and makes quality bank for the buck subs. that setup will make anything you find at best buy look like dried dog shit.

a good wiring kit which you dont really need much since the battery is in the trunk is 40 bucks or you can use some of thick guage wire you have at your crib. all you need to do is buy a good fuse box which is like 10-15 bucks and take that cylindrical piece of shit that comes with the wiring kit and crush it with a ball peen hammer unless you want to set your car on fire using it.


a good new old school amp you can get for about 200-250 bucks is a soundstream 502 which is more than enough. just make sure its got a internal fan and even if it doest you will never clip that amp pushing that speaker. then in the future you can always buy another cvt 10'' in the box for about 100 to 125 and plug it into the amp which is 250 watts each channel at 4 ohms. bridge it and drop down the ohms and you'll have plenty of power to each speaker. in the mean time bump one. it was plenty of bass for my truck but i come from the school of 4 twelves or 2 fifteens in the trunk so i always want more...

i'll tell you what with that 502 bridged and turned down on that cvt speaker in my single cab truck it sure as hell bumped. it bumped so good it needed a bigger cab to be able to really move air so in your car it should be plenty of room for air to move around there so it will bump even harder.

now you can just buy a decent amp that later on if you want to add on another woofer will handle it nice. im telling you i had a 502 soundstream back in 00 with no internal fan. bridged to haalf an ohm pushing 2 15'' kickers and even though the amp was way to small it held up like a champ, clipped would turn off and then when it cooled on its own came back on. i later sold that whole system to my bud. lets just say that amp pushed those 15's for over 4 years and never died suprisingly.

now thats a good deal. though i dont know how well that will fit in his trunk with the batt box. though i will say i do like the wiring on that set up. chris if you want take the two amps. hook up the sub i'll give you and later on upgrade. 600 bucks is good for the whole deal even though i dont like buying used electronics myself.

now the whole front of the box is bare wood because I had a front baffle board that fit it. The box and wiring isn't really a apart of the sale, but I will through it, but more in likely the box will only work with the accord.

different strokes for different folks. some people do "DB drag" events to see who can hit the highest SPL measurement on a meter. its not my cup of tea either, but that setup would decent in one of those competitions. those ascendant audio subs are somewhat pricey so id bet he spent a decent amout of coin on that setup for the purpose of db drag/spl comps.
