How dark can I tint my car windows?

Florida statutes prohibit sun screening material ”on side windows on either side, forward of or adjacent to the operator’s seat…the solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 25 percent as measured on the no film side and light transmittance of at least 28 percent in the visible light range.” No sun screening may be placed on the front window so as to “encroach upon the driver’s direct forward viewing area…”

As a practical matter, legitimate window tenting businesses know which of their products comply with Florida laws and are not allowed to install sun-screening materials, which do not comply with state statutes. They may have darker material in stock to put on rear side and rear windows as allowed by law.

Window tinting of any sort deteriorates a driver’s visibility, particularly at night. It is strongly urged that you consider this when deciding how dark you wish to tint your windows. Do not trade safety for comfort or style.

I have 18% all around(windshield 2) and I just got a ticket in SWEETWATER, those fucking refs are the only ones that care, losers with nothing better to do than patrol a 3 block radius giving everyone a ticket for everything.. MDPD doesnt care tho.

i got 5% all around and i think its lke 50% full front winsheild...been pulled over in stupi places like dadeland mall...i never get stopped for em. just sometimes when the cop is a jerk he will use the tints as a reason to give me a ticket when he pulled me over for nothing...

then try and act like he is being nice cuz he "only giving me one when i could give u a ticket for each and everywindow"

Everyone of my cars have and will violate that law. :D
4% sides and 32% windshield.

BTW - im pretty sure they dont make 50% window tint. I think the highest is like 32 or so. And 4% is the lowest ive seen or heard of. Combine that with the stock "privacy glass" and you basically have 0%.

I've had 15% all around... for a good 2 years now without a problem... :) and I want to go darker :D

if the cops want to be an asshole and take as much time as they want..they can get you for tints. or NON DOT Approve crap , how low your car is.. noise pollution..

they just lazy to fill out the paper work...
