u need to go on your internet browser and point it to your IP address and itll take you to the wireless router controls. in there you set the password for it and all the other settings.

that's as much as i know really. i suck at hardware, im mostly a SW guy. maybe extremum can help j00

Mikey

I have no idea how to do any of this could someone give me some hintsthe orginal paper work that came with your router contains the IP address that you need to use. sometimes the address is also stamped on the outer itself.

use whatever computer is hard wired to the router and use your browser to go to that IP address.

once there make sure that no one has made your unsecure wireless conection secure. that's probably why you can't connect. you can also hit the reset botton that is located on the back or bottom of the router.

It will reset the router back to it's default setting and you can go from there. it's a little button that you will have to either use a paperclip or a pen to push in.

Phil

I hit the reset button and it still gave me the same prob

holy shit dude all of this for a simple problem. Type in the ip address of Linksys and make the router secure, if not call thier number and someone will help you in a matter of like 3 seconds. For one someone is using your connection and probably lags it like crazy, or they are trying to get into your pc somehow. Restart all of the connections. If all else fails turn it off and call thier tech support and he will give you an access ip for you to make it secure.

So either he reset the right thing by accident or he found the problem and fixed and doesn't want to admit it. lol:slap:

NAT FTW!

oh and btw for future referance, I could have posted what you guys posted, but I am sure Phill doesnt know how to retrieve an IP. I am even sure PHILL doesnt even know what an IP is! LOL.

That right there is the reason why I did not YAP away on what to do. You guys need to take one step at a time.

is it normal for a router to randomly disconnect a hard wired ps2 doing online games or wirless laptops that disconnect if u try to download large filesIf a ps2 uses standard networking (which I would think it does) then NO that is NOT normal.
