put a 350 in itno it will be going up for sale here pretty soon. I'm getting a new car and once i get rid of the truck and store some cash up i'll be getting a tacoma x-runner, she's my baby yes, but i've cheated with my eyes and have fallen for the X-runner.

That´s one hot truck.

how are you doing on the performance departmentnot much done to her really, i didn't want to void the warrenty. I have a warrenty that's good till 75,000 miles or 5years. I'm only at 38,000.

she's pretty quick for a truck, has the 4.3L with a stick shift trani, and a locking rear axel.

most automatics have issues getting up to top speed. but with the stick i have a lot of throttle all the way to 97 which is were the computer wont let me go any farther. I could easily take her to 120 or better with out the computer restrictions. the axel is geared a little low so i cruise at 2250rpm(ish) in 5th gets me 70 mph. first gear is really low (truck factor) so spinning is way to damn easy, a little water on the road and she's a bitch to keep stuck.

I orginally wanted to redo the motor and drop in another 4.3L matted to a trani geared more for racing that would lay down about 450-500 to the wheels but i've just fallen out of love with this truck and want to go ahead and get the X-runner when i can.

The extended cab is a blessing, i could never own another truck that isn't extended cab. I have to have a place to put my crap. plus thw little jump seat back there is good for when you need to have 3 in the cab.

There has to be a way to transfer some more weight to the rear of her. If I were to make it a race truck i would move the battery, radiator and computer to the bed of the truck. and put it all under a tonoue cover. that's vented in some manner.

Can you do that?

Can you do that?why not, just extend the hoses and wires and it's all good.

my brothers father inlaw did it with his mud bogger. he put all the stuff in the bed to add a little weight over the wheels to help it get a little more traction and lighten the front some.

He also extended the front end about 2 feet to compensate for the front end picking up. it has nice 44 inch tires on the rear. the thing would dig in about a foot before it would catch and launch.

the 454 that he dropped in there was just awesome. open headers was even better, loved to hear it just fire up.

I'll see if my sister inlaw has any picture of it when i see her next time.
