turboelise

The shootout was divided into 2 categories. FWD and RWD/AWD. FWD category was not as impressive, with Howell Automotive SRT4 (450hp) coming in first place. Car achieved 13.4 @ 112mph in the 1/4 mile, 120-5 in 750 feet braking (forcedfed elise managed 465 feet). SRT4 also ran the road course in 112.3 sec.
Below I have the data for RWD/AWD cars. HKS evo (driven by the famous "no one better" dude from Japan) come in first place, followed by hondata and forcedfed elises. Hondata elise was fitted with a supercharged k20 honda engine (320hp), while forcedfed elise used a built and turboed 2zz (400hp). It should be noted that all cars were required to use tires with a minimum tread wear of 140. Notice how consistent the Evo is, with the best 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds and the fastest course time of 102.9. In the 1/4 mile, as well as high-speed acceleration, forcedfed elise excelled with a 121mph trap speed. Imagine how hard it was to launch a 1900lbs, RWD car with 400hp. Elise badly needed better tires...

P.S.This comparison was particularly interesting to me since I have forcedfed turbo elise myself, although I have a stock engine turbo package making about 280hp. My car was tested by motortrend and achieved 4.0 0-60 and 12.5 in the 1/4 mile, as well 1.04G on skidpad. I am in the process of upgrading the setup within the next couple of month though.
