Just pull the vacuum hose that goes on the BOV and you'll get a fluttery noise...lol

um...u want it to go whoosh. that means its just right to let the excess air pressure. fluttering is usually a bad thing...means that its too tight and therefore it causes a backflow or surge to the turbo.

i like my blitz, but if i was to buy a new BOV i would get an HKS b/c it sounds better...guess i still got the ricer in me.

you're in luck, the fluttering bov is the cheapest one. its called having no blow off valve at all. unfortunately your turbo might die in a few weeks

HIs turbo has a BOV, he is just asking to see if there are any others that sound better. i think he wants the ricer 1 like to too :)

HKS SSQV is the bov that flutters so to speak. I've only heard it under low boost. Under moderate boost boost all you hear is a PSHH PSHHHH. I don't know what it's like under really high boost since I was told that it can't really hold much.

you guys crack me up. EVERY bov will flutter............. if it surges. And most bov's experience some amount of surging depending on how it's set (spring pressure), turbo size and efficiency, boost pressure, throttle position, rpm, outside temp (yes that can affect it too), and many other factors. some may flutter more than others but so many variables it's hard to say. I had an HKS SSQV on my ls-t and on my gsr-t. diff setups. my ls-t used to surge a lot more than on my gsr-t. could be how it was set, etc.

I dunno I've heard the HKS sound the same across different platforms so I just thought it was designed to sound like that. Well I was wrong in a way I guess.

i've noticed the hks tends to flutter a lot but ill tell u... it didn't on the gsr one bit. every blow off was a rush of air and in full boost it was a ping and a woosh lol

wait hold on. You had a ssqv or a racing type I? II? I dunno if it makes a difference but it might as far as which flutters more. I'd assume the I and II would more since they are the race ones.

no.... loosen it up. tightening it up makes it harder to open. the harder it it to open the more it will surge. so no...

yeah it's bad, but it will make that flutter he wants.

yeah actually i thought u said if you DON'T want it to flutter you should tighten it up. either way surge not good hehe

Ive never heard the ssqv on a civic. And ive never heard it have that strong "pshhhhh" rush of air effect. But on every other car ive heard it, its more of a hissing whistle sound imo. The more air going through it, the more distinct the whistle. In person, i could make the noises, and youd get it lol. Also they have 2 dif inserts for em which can change the sound. So it could have that fluttering whoosh sound this guys looking for.

I dunno...IMO not once did i ever hear a complaint or an unsatisfied person with their SSQV....and it also retains its resale value :run:
